Kendrick Lamar performs during the Festival d'ete de Quebec on July 7, 2017 in Quebec City, Canada.

Even though Kendrick Lamar has worked with a myriad of marquee producers in his career, including 9th Wonder, Dr. Dre and Hit-Boy, K.Dot is hoping to "one day" make his dream collaboration with Swizz Beatz become a reality.

In light of the upcoming beat battle between Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, Lamar salutes Beatz on his musical prowess and longevity in a recent Instagram video.

“This is my generation,” says Lamar. “Being a student of rap, when I first started rhyming, what I used to do was check the f--king credits. This is something I don’t know if the kids are doing, but I’m going to explain it to you. Checking the credits is how I know I want to work with Swizz Beatz one day. I remember my favorite f--king beats, checking the credits, would say Swizz on it.”

Though K.Dot and Swizz haven't been able to lock in a session together just yet, Beatz' six-year-old son, Egypt Dean, has already landed a placement with the Compton MC. Last year, Dean played a pivotal role on Lamar's 2016 Untitled Unmastered project.

"This is the best Dad moment everrrrr!!!," gushed the prolific producer on Instagram in March 2016. "Congrats to my son Egypt for producing his 1st track on this amazing Kendrick Album---------------- he's only 5yrs old wowwwwwww@aliciakeys look at our lil guy baby------------ #blessingsonblessings thx#Kendrick for investing in the future !!! Track 7."
