Saturday Night Live comically addressed the controversy surrounding Morgan Wallen, who was recently caught on video using the N-word, during the show's Weekend Update on Feb. 6.

In the segment's typical newsroom fashion, Weekend Update co-host Michael Che introduced the Wallen story in a straightforward manner, noting that the country music star's record label had suspended his contract after video surfaced of him using the racial slur.

"Hmm, wonder who he learned that from?" Che says next, as a photo appears of his Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost embracing Wallen during a recent taping of SNL.

Che then looks over to Jost, who reacts with a grimace as audience laughter is heard in the background.

The photo was taking during the end credits of Wallen's SNL debut in early December, roughly two months after his last-minute replacement as musical guest for breaking the show's strict COVID-19 safety protocols.

In addition to poking fun at himself during a skit that spoofed an October night he was caught on video partying without a mask or practicing social distancing at a football game, the country singer also performed songs from his recent chart-topping double album, Dangerous.
